How to activate the SIM card?
Each UbeeTravel SIM card is pre-activated and ready to use for calling or exchanging data.
Important ! Data plans need to be activated on our website? Activate your data plan in your account in one click. Please note that if you do not activate the data plan you purchased, your internet usage will be charged per MB and your credit will quickly run out.
Your phone number and PIN code are printed on the SIM card. Your international service is already active; no need to register. Calls and texts are activated automatically when you first choose a network.
Do I need to activate data plans in advance?
Yes, all data plans must be activated in advance on our website. Activate your data plan in your account with one click.
Please note that if you do not activate the data plan you purchased, your internet usage will be billed per MB and your credit will run out quickly.
You can activate your data plan before you travel, but keep in mind that your data plan is valid for a limited period.
Can I have multiple data plans at the same time?
Yes, you can purchase and activate multiple data plans at the same time.
Let’s say you go to China and Australia, for example. You can then choose to purchase a China 3GB data plan and a Zone A data plan for Australia.
You can activate data plans at the same time. The system will automatically use your China 3GB data plan when you arrive in China, and your Zone A data plan when you arrive in Australia.
Remember that data plans are valid for a period of time. This validity period begins on the day of activation of the data plan.
If you’re using multiple data plans at the same time, remember that they have priority levels. The priority level decides which data plan will be used first, and which one next.
The data plan priority levels are as follows:
- Asia 3GB Data plan
- Offer Data plan 5GB
- Europe+ data plan 2GB Europe+ data plan 5GB Europe+ data plan 10 GB
- Zone A data plans (from smallest to biggest)
- Zone B data plans (from smallest to biggest)
- Zone C data plans (smallest to largest)
For example: You have bought 500 MB Zone A data plan for USA and 500MB Zone B data plan for Canada.
You can activate both data plans at the same time. The system will automatically use Zone A data plan in the USA and Zone B in Canada. Also, if you travel back from Canada to the USA and you still have some data left in Zone A data plan, the system will automatically start to use it once you arrive back in the USA.
Please note that you can´t activate two exactly the same data plans at the same time.
For example: You can´t activate two Zone A 1GB data plans at the same time. You can activate Zone A 1GB and Zone A 2GB at the sime time or Zone A 1 GB and Europe 5G same time (but not two exactly the same data plans).
How long is my credit or SIM card valid for? Can my balance or the SIM card expire?
UbeeTravel credit, or talk time, is valid for one year from your last recharge. Your SIM card will remain “active” as long as you top it up once a year.
If you purchase a data plan, the validity period is indicated for each data plan (from 1 to 30 days from the date of activation). This duration starts from the moment you activate the data plan.
Can I use the SIM card in tablets, iPads and modems?
The UbeeTravel SIM card is a Triple-SIM with 3 detachable formats (mini – micro – nano), i.e. it will work in any unlocked device and will adapt to all phones and tablets. When you receive your SIM card, carefully detach the desired SIM format, compatible with your device (keep the templates cut out, in case you want to reuse your SIM in another device with a different SIM format).
Can I connect to wifi hotspots?
Yes. UbeeTravel SIM card is a Triple-SIM, which means it will work in any unlocked device and fits all phones and tablets. When your SIM card arrives, you can simply apply it to any unlocked device you wish to use it in.
For better security, we advise you to prefer using your UbeeTravel data plan rather than using public Wi-Fi access points which are not secure.
Reliable and secure solution for all your mobile Internet connections
Did you know that most public Wi-Fi networks are open?
Your data is vulnerable and potentially accessible to anyone connected to the same network as you.
YOUR COMMUNICATIONS ARE SAFE AND PRIVATE WITH UBEETRAVEL
Any navigation on a public Wi-Fi network is dangerous, whether it allows you to access a VPN (Virtual Private Network) or a secure site (in HTTPS).
If you have no information about the network you are trying to access (even if a code is needed for that network), you also have no control over the final destination of your data.
Some Wi-Fi hotspots can imitate reputable networks to gain your trust, access your data and break into your PC, in order to remotely copy the contents of your hard drive.
Indeed, hackers can access 100% of your communications while you think you are in a secure environment. This is not the case when you use your UbeeTravel DataSIM: you benefit from secure personal cellular access to the internet.
